I don’t really like to talk about my size. I’m comfortable with it… it’s me. I’ve carried twins and then a singleton and I’m not the same size I was before kids. It’s not my favorite thing to mention. I’m also tall. I’ve always been tall and muscular, so my weight has always been quite a bit more than my friends. It’s not something I’m ashamed of, but it still sounds big when I say it so I don’t usually. But I’m going to today, because I want to help out others who are tall, or short, and who carry their weight in their bellies. Especially mamas post having kiddos. My kids also left me with the gift of Diastasis Recti (DR) – a separation of my abdominal muscles. And while my DR is not painful or very wide, it’s enough that I will probably never have the flat stomach I had in high school. So, here goes. I am 6′ tall and I haven’t seen a 160 on the scale since before my last babe. I wear a size XL in tops and 14 extra tall in jeans. And I really seek to hide my least favorite feature, my stomach.
Now I’ve written that all out and I’m not even sure I can post it. We’ll see. The point of this blog isn’t to talk about my weight, but I feel like I need to share so that you can see that even though I take and post somewhat flattering pics, I’m very careful with the clothes that I buy so that they will help me to feel better about myself. I want to be comfortable in my clothes, and I also want them to help me to feel the best that I possibly can.
I also refuse to spend a ton of money on my clothes. I take clothing buying pretty seriously, because I hate wasting money on things I won’t wear and I will only wear things I know complement my figure and make me feel confident. I know there are women who are into luxury brands and like to indulge in nice things. I will once in a while for sure, but for my day-to-day wardrobe I just want to look cute, feel comfy, and save money.
If any of these things I’ve mentioned apply to you then I hope you’ll keep reading. I’m picking out my favorite tall clothing – which means that they probably also come in short & regular – and they’d be good for anyone who has a tummy they want to hide!

I personally own several different brands of jeans and I like them all for different reasons, but hands down my favorite jeans to hide a tummy, that are comfy and also super cute are the pull-on Rockstar Jeggings from Old Navy. And there are SO MANY more options than when I first started getting them 5 years ago! The fabric is softer, too. You can get distressed, not distressed, white, black, mid-rise, high-rise, and all different inseams, too. The tall are long enough for me, which is rare with my super-long inseam!

I do also like their button up jeggings, I just like to add a belt with them so these pull-on options are definitely the easiest and are super flattering!
My American Eagle High Rise jeans are my second favorite pair of jeans on the planet! I have several pairs of these as well! Since they button, I choose to wear a belt with them – which is the only reason they are second fave! Oner perk they have is that they have front and back pockets, which is nice, and which pull-on jeans don’t have.

The Maurices EverFlex jeans are my newest favorites! I grabbed these with dark fabric behind the distressing because I really like the style! They also are high enough that they hold the tummy in (though they do not have any kind of compressions like the Rockstar Leggings do) and are very flattering!
Leggings
I have tried so many different brands of leggings. I need a little bit of compression. I need them to stay in place while I chase after my 3 kiddos all day or if I decide to go for a walk or a jog. I have found a couple options that I like.

This first pair is from Amazon. They are adorable, they stay up well, and they have good compression! They also have pockets, which I pretty much can’t live without! I have 2 pairs of leggings from this brand – the other are snakeskin and are full length – and I love them both!

My absolute favorite pair of leggings are the High-Waisted Elevate Leggings by Old Navy. They come in short, regular, and long, and all sorts of colors.

Swimsuits
I wrote a whole blog just devoted to swimwear for those of us with diastasis recti or otherwise wanting to hide the tummy region a little. Instead of revising the whole bit here, you can just go HERE to read more!
Clothing Subscriptions
I wanted to take a moment and mention my 2 favorite clothing subscriptions. (Do you know of others?! Let me know about them! I’m interested in trying more!). This is a fun way to try new styles! I’ve found a few new favorite tops and bottoms this way!
