Hey there!
It’s me, Chandler!
I’m back to let you in on a tip I’ve discovered on how to save money shopping online. It’s pretty sweet – in fact it makes me a little giddy when it works. I stumbled across it after signing up for Walmart+. This tip alone has more than paid for our Walmart+! I also use it at Target since I get free shipping with my Red Card. You don’t have to have a Red Card or Walmart+ to use it, though. If you know of other stores this works at, please let me know!

Real quick… Let’s Go Over How to Save Time & Money by Shopping Online
First, I have to remind you to make sure you’re following Fun2Find Deals on FB for daily deals! That’s the absolute BEST way to save money! I do all the searching so you don’t have to. You’ll definitely want to make sure you follow along as we prep for the holidays!
Free Shipping
Next, make sure you aren’t paying for shipping. For stores like Walmart & Target, they each have a minimum to hit and then they ship free! I often add things like toilet paper, tissues, or paper towels to my order to hit the minimum. Or, if you sign up for Walmart+ or sign up for a Target Red Card, shipping is always free!
When you return an item you don’t get your shipping back, so it’s imperative to not pay shipping unless you absolutely have to (there are some shops that charge shipping like Jane or Etsy or small businesses I buy from… I pay shipping there if needed because they’re smaller vendors, not big retailers).
Free Returns
This is where shopping online really comes in handy! If you shop through the Walmart or Target app, you can start your returns there!
I didn’t do this for a long time because it just seemed like an extra step, but now I ALWAYS do! Here’s why!

Time for that “Secret” Tip you may not know!
When you start a return online through the Target or Walmart app: The retailer may not even make you bring your item back when they refund your money! Sometimes it actually costs the retailer more to initiate the return, so they don’t. They just refund you and cut their losses.
All this to say that sometimes they refund your money AND let you keep the item! This usually happens with seasonal items like summer sandals or Christmas clothes. There’s been many times over the past year when I started my return online and they didn’t want the item back! I then give it to a friend or donate it. It’s an awesome perk!
No receipt? No problem!

You can use your order history within each app to start a return, even if you lost the receipt! The Walmart app shows you exactly how long you have left to make a return.
The Cat & Jack kids’ clothing brand from Target allows you to return items for up to 1 year with a receipt. This is amazing, but you have to have proof of purchase. If you order online from Target it will always show up on your orders and starting a return will be a breeze!
Just go to your app order history, search for the item: “Shoes” or “Jeans” and then select “Start Return.” They may not even make you return your item when they refund your money! Several returns I’ve made they’ve returned my money AND told me to keep or donate the item. This makes returns soooooo easy, it’s insane. If they do want you to return you can choose to mail it in or return to store, whichever is easiest for you. Then you can then grab the next size up for your kids! I couldn’t even believe how easy it was when I did it!
I was very very very very very excited when I learned this extra tip about returning online! It’s so much fun to share with you! I’m not gonna lie, I often audibly sigh “bummer” when they make me physically return my item. I know it’s normal, it’s just so fun to get to keep the item and get your money back!
